Spiral is led Suriname's BIOFIN and CPEIR assessments, evaluating biodiversity and climate-related financing flows, expenditures, and institutional arrangements. The project supports implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan by identifying financing gaps and developing practical solutions to mobilize resources for biodiversity and climate action.

Spiral is supporting the Suriname Bankers Association in developing the country's first Sustainable Finance Protocol. The initiative aligns the banking sector with international ESG and sustainable finance practices through risk assessments, benchmarking, capacity building, and development of a sector-wide sustainability framework.

Spiral led the feasibility assessment and programme design for a regional Sustainable Forest Livelihoods initiative. The project identified investment opportunities, sustainable value chains, and livelihood interventions to strengthen community resilience and promote sustainable landscape management across Suriname and Guyana.

Spiral supported the development of a national roadmap for forest certification, assessing alignment with international standards such as PEFC and FSC. The project focused on governance, legal frameworks, monitoring systems, and market access opportunities for Suriname's sustainable forestry sector.

Spiral led stakeholder consultations and environmental and social assessments for Suriname's renewable energy transition in rural communities. The project evaluated risks and opportunities associated with off-grid solar energy solutions and developed an Environmental and Social Management Framework to support implementation.
